KATIE BAKER

KAITLIN CARRASCO

I will be attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX in the fall of 2007.  As of now, my plan is to major in Retail and possibly minor in Business and eventually become a buyer for a large retail chain or department store.  As the summer goes on and each day gets me closer to making that 2,000 mile move, I'm beginning to remember all of the reasons why I'm so scared to leave.  Although there are plenty of fun memories outside of cheerleading, I spent four years of my life in this program and became part of a family that I'll never forget.  I'll miss the early summer practices that brought the team together for the first time in the season.  I'll miss C!M camp and the team talks, the games we played, the dance parties we had on the last night, and the campfire that brought it all together for the last time as seniors.  I'll miss the Friday night football games and the smelly equipment that we had to ride with and the push-ups after every touchdown.  I'll miss cheering the basketball games, and maybe even more so complaining about having to cheer the basketball games instead of getting to watch them.  I'll miss the senior talks before competitions and the frantic make-up doing on the bus, and of course Tif's screaming for more hairspray and/or more lipstick.  I'll miss taking the mat and that disgusting blue fuzz that we could never really seem to get away from.  But most of all, I'll miss feeling at home with the family that I've been building since my freshman year.  It's sad to think that I won't have anymore practices playing with Petey and that I'll be missing out on all of the crazy jokes and stories.  It was a rough adventure sometimes, but LCHS cheerleading will always have a place in my heart.  I can't thank Coach B and Tif enough for everything that they've done for me and the lessons they've taught me.  If I could give any advice, it would be to never settle for less than your best.  You are part of a legacy- don't take it for granted.  Good luck girls!  I'll be home soon to see you on the mat.

CHRISTY SWOPE
Next year I plan on attending MSU and majoring in marketing and advertising.  My most missed memory from cheerleading would just have to be being around all the different personalities.  I got to know so many people that I probably would not have gotten to know other wise.  All the bonding time that we shared as a team will always stay with me.  The games we cheered and the competitions that we attended were great experiences.  Being on a team with so many great people helped me to become the person that I am.  I will miss cheerleading and all the people that made it what it was.

AMANDA THOMASHOW
I will be attending Lyman Briggs, the residential school of natural sciences at MSU in the fall of 2007. I am majoring in mathematics and I am rooming with my best friend from preschool. I just plan on just getting my work done for at least the first year, then maybe I'll add a few more activities to my metaphorical plate. What I miss most about cheerleading would have to be the practices in the armory during my junior year. They were always fun, even though they usually lasted about 3 hours. But nonetheless, it was great spending all that time with a group of girls that were basically family and work didn't really feel like work, despite our excessive complaining. I miss the amazing stunts we pulled out of no where and the illegal pyramid that we legalized. I miss my junior year so much, I miss everything about it, especially spending time with my second family. (but i defiantly won't miss the upper peninsula! =)

ANGELA HOSPODAR

STEPHANIE MILLER

In the fall I’ll be starting my junior year at MSU. My major is Family Community Services with an emphasis in Child Development. I plan on getting a Masters in teaching or counseling and hope to be a pre-school teacher, or child life specialist. Cheerleading is a sport that I can never get away from. I love cheerleading and I love the program at LCC. What I probably miss most about cheerleading though would be the games and competitions. Although, the competitions were long and the games would be long, boring, and sometimes we’d be frozen or wet at football games, I’ll never forget how much fun I had. I’ll always cherish all the memories I have from cheering at LCC and will never forget my coaches and teammates.

I am currently a junior Psychology major at Siena Heights University. This year has been a huge year for me.  I am the president of the Psi Chi (national honors society for psychology) there, I was inducted into Who's Who Among American Universities and Colleges, and I am part of the Leadership Program at Siena Heights. I am doing my internship for psychology at Family Counseling and Children's Services which is a foster care center.  My favorite memory of LCC cheerleading would have to be winning states as a sophomore. The feelings were amazing, and nothing could top that. All of the friends I made while cheering was huge too!!!!

LAURA COSTELLO (ROBERTS)
I graduated from Lansing Community College with a degree in Emergency Medical Services.  After doing that for 4 years, I have switched gears, I actually work for the MHSAA (Michigan High School Athletic Association).  I register all official/judges for the state of Michigan,
and have been doing so for the last 2 years! What I miss the most about cheerleading, other than being in terrific shape, is everything! I loved the games, being on the field or court! It was the best experience I ever had, plus I stood next to and cheered with some of the greatest friends I had in high school. I have been married now for 3 years and have a little baby girl, Emma Isabelle.
